Research
I specialize in the research of PHAs, a group of polyesters that can be produced by fermentation using sustainable resources. Our main goal is to discover new enzymes that can synthesize PHAs to overcome the drawbacks of current PHA materials. To achieve this, we use techniques such as enzyme engineering, bioinformatics and metabolic engineering. Our research is carried out in close collaboration with our project partners and our research goal is oriented towards the desired properties of the resulting materials.
